Why is Richard Dawkins so Popular?

In this four minute video, Dr. William Lane Craig responds to the question about why Richard Dawkins seems to be so popular among atheists.

  1. Richard Dawkins is popular among intellectuals because he puts forward arguments in a clear and logical manner and actively goes out of his way to debunk the common misconceptions regarding the theory of Evolution (which creationists attack as it provides concise evidence against their religious beliefs).

  2. Richard Dawkins is popular among pseudo-intellectuals because he puts forward pure rhetoric in an impassioned and stylized manner and actively goes out of his way to ignore the mainline arguments against atheism (instead he focuses all his energy on trying to prove that Evolution necessarily means no religion can be correct and all are outdated.)
