Why does the Bible mention Unicorns?

The Unicorn

If you've ever been reading some of the Old Testament books of the Bible in the King James Version you might have come across something you found very strange, and that is that it speaks about unicorns. Why does the Bible talk about them? And what is a unicorn in the first place? The following video will endeavour to answer the important question of 'Why does the Bible mention Unicorns?"

  1. Is there actually any archaeological evidence though to suggest that Rhinosauras were ever in or around ancient Israel or even the middle-east?

  2. Hey Dan, I just did a quick search and found an article on MSNBC about an acient people using fire in the area of "Gesher Benot Ya’aqov in the northern Dead Sea valley."

While the article is about the use of fire, it does make on reference to the Rhino at that location. "The evidence indicates the early humans ate a variety of animals including horses, deer, rhino, hippo and birds, Goren-Inbar said in an interview via e-mail."

While this isn't a great source arguing that rhinos lived in this area, it atleast is a thread you might be able to follow.

Currently rhino's do mostly live in Sub-Saharan Africa, due to the lack of vegitation in the north. However it doesn't seem too hard to imagine rhinos habitating further north in the past, before man hunted the rhino into near extinction.

    Great video by the way.
